1) Eat a salad -
But what does this necessarily mean, what are healthy choices in the cafeteria? The salad station is a GREAT option. They have a variety of different lettuces including Romaine (20 Calories| 0.4 Fat 3.6g Carb| 1.2g Protein),Mesclun mix(20 calories|0g Fat| 4.1g Carb| 2g Protein) , Spinach (26 Calories|0.4g Fat| 4.1d Carb| 3.4g Protein), Kale (56 Calories| 0g Fat| 11.8g Carb| 3.4g Protein) and Arugula (3.4 Calories| 1.1g Fat| 4.5g Carb| 3.4g Protein) with a variety of 18 toppings you can add to your salad. The only thing about getting a salad is it can be extremely pricey when you add a protein which is necessary for a well balanced diet. I normally get salmon which is 3.99 on top of the base price of the salad which is 5.99. A total of 9.98 for a small salad is a bit much, but it does cost to be healthy.2) Goldstein Health, Fitness & Recreation Center
What does Goldstein Health, Fitness, & Recreation Center have to offer? The gym is accessible to all students for FREE! Here is a list of their weekly hours:Monday-Friday:6am-11pm
Saturday: 6am-9pm
Sunday:7am-9pm
My favorite form of exercise are the weekly classes that are provided in the dance room. I religiously attend Zumba on Tuesdays and Kickboxing on Thursday. The instructor Joann makes every class enjoyable and leaves you with a smile.
There are other things to do in the gym besides Zumba and Kickboxing. You can run the track, 8 times around the track equals a mile so you can either run, jog or walk to shed those unwanted fat on those thunder thighs girl lol. Also the weight room has plentiful machines that will help sculpt the summer body you dreamed of. At least working out 15-30 minutes daily is a great way to maintain and even lose weight.

3) Drink Water-
It is very important to stay hydrated. One reason is because you will not feel the need to overeat at meals. Plus water has alot of health benefits including getting your skin rejuvenated, help maintain normal bowel movements and help filtration in the kidneys. You will know if you had enough water if your urine is light in color or colorless.
4) Snacking?
Avoid late night snacking, Yes Perk & Kessel After Dark are TRAPS!! Late Night Kessel does not have ANY healthy options. Some of the foods available for purchase include fried oreos, mozzarella sticks, milkshakes, fried chicken wings, nachos and disco fries with gravy. Both of these are open to target those students that are up late cramming for exams and procrastinating on assignments. . In an interview with ABC News published online in February 2003, Erica Blackburg explained that people often eat foods at late hours, such as ice cream, chips and chocolate. These foods are high in calories and low in nutrients, and on top of not sticking to serving sizes it can lead to excessive caloric intake and weight gain.5) Take the Stairs-
It might sound like a hassle to walk up a few flights of stairs in your residential hall after coming from class but it actually helps you burn more calories. Have you ever heard the saying burn calories, not electricity, take the stairs. Well that is very true according to Step Jockery taking the stairs will save you tons of time as well as burn 3.65 calories per floor. Stair climbing raises heart rate, protects against high blood pressure, weight gain and clogged arteries. This lowers the risk of developing chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, vascular dementia and even some cancers.
